Natural Hair Update: Took My Braids Out!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally took my hair on July 27th 2013.

It took me about seven hours total to take them out,

but boy wasn’t it about time?

Keep reading while I give you the full update below...

After taking my hair out I did a length check

The picture on the left was March 2013 and right picture is July 2013

I went from mid neck length

to collar bone

Hair grows...

After I took my braids out I pulled my hair back and went to sleep

I woke up the next morning and did my hair in the shower

It took me literally 2 hours to detangle my hair

I applied my Protein Treatment to my hair

And let it sit for about 30 minutes

Then I rinsed out and applied my leave in

I did my wash n go

And I had flawless curls like the picture above

Also I have a new regimen that I'll be using for a year and I will be

posting about it next week.

Stay tuned!!!!

Love Your Hair for What it is....

I remember when I was transitioning to natural hair
and I would always look at these curly girls with beautiful hair.
I was wishing and praying my hair would come out like that.
I was so nervous because I didn’t know what my curl pattern was going to look like at all because I was just transitioning.
Teyana Taylor was my biggest hair crush ever
I wanted my hair to be just like hers and didn’t know what I would do if it wasn’t
Well guess what????
IT AIN’T
LOL
I see so many girls that look at other naturals and think that if they go natural their hair is going to look just like hers.
Well guess what???
IT AIN’T!!!!!!
When making the decision to go natural you need to understand and prepare yourself on what to expect.
Your hair may not look like hers
And you can’t go into that having high expectations either
You have to learn to accept your hair for what it is
I want my Teyana Taylor hair so bad,
but I realized that’s not the crown that God has given me
I learned to accept that too
Embrace it and love your hair for what it is
To me healthy hair is good hair if you ask me
Because guess what???
Healthy hair grows!!!!!!
OK your hair isn’t in the Category 3,
but it’s Category 4.
Accept it and move on
You’re not going to love a lot of things about yourself,
but you have to love yourself first.
And your hair is a part of you
Remember that ladies!!!!

A Homemade Twinkie

"I was made from priceless flour
grounded from the sweetest grains
and mixed with collected honey
from swarns of Africans bees
who protected my nectar
with STRINGS
that were fatal .
"I was stirred with milk
so filled with nutrients
that it fed entire plantations
of children
because the MASTER loved
his sons and daughters
and Mary Sue's milk
was NEVER as nurturing.

"I was thickened with eggs
that began the world
and produced the seeds
who built the Pyramids
who built the Great Wall of China
who civilized America
BEFORE it was discovered
AND who landed on the moon
seeds from MY eggs
EVE
in case you caught worldwide amnesia.
"I was flavored with sugar
straight from the cane
cut down by Abel men
cut down by Cain,
cut down in sin
then Nations came
Nations addicted to sugar
that ROBBED their brains
of sanity.
"I was sprinkled with natural oils
that allowed my hair
to stand at attention
unwashed
and still clean
nappy
and still breathe
kinky
and still grow
short
and still sexy
LONG
and braided.
"Then I was baked ALIVE
and molded in the heat
of slavery
in the heat
of dehumanization
in the heat
of bigotry
in the heat
of poverty
sexism
racism
classism.
"Until I was finally left alone
a cold
loveless
hollow shell
of my past greatness
needing YOU
with your cream
to fill me up
and start the world again
with a treat
of our sweet
and completed
love.

Every summer I always say...
I'm going to the beach
I'm going to the beach
I'm going to the beach
[You get my drift right?]
I have literally THREE bathing suits that I have not worn yet
And then when I try to set up times with my friends when I want to go the beach
I have to WORK!!!!!
This literally sucks
It's just a sucky feeling
I've been living here for five freaking years
And I'm only thirty minutes away from the beach
And I have yet to go
BUT all this is about the change.....

I'm doing summer camp next week and
GUESS WHAT??????
WE"RE GOING TO THE BEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am super duper excited
[Call me corny because it's with a bunch of teenagers for teen camp, but whatevs]
I have three gorgeous bathing suits to choose from, but I don't know which one to wear
I guess we will see when I do an updated post then huh???

I decided to write a post on this "finally"
This was a topic that was highly requested
Have you ever had a friend that post half naked pictures on Facebook, Instagram, and etc, but cries how she can never find a good man?
A friend that easily lets dudes smash after "talking" or "one date", but wonders why she don't have nobody?
Or, a friend that doesn't respect herself, but doesn't understand why she can't be respected by no man?
We all have a friend or know somebody like that?
I have a couple of friends like this.
Posting half naked pictures ain't going to get you NO WHERE!!!!!!
The same woman that's bitter and whine about how men ain't shit are the same ones that get treated like a hoe.

That's just something I don't understand.
If I feel like a pair of shorts are too short or shirt show too much cleavage I began to feel uncomfortable and feel naked.
[But let's be real I have absolutely no cleavage they will see bare chest anyways]
Dressing and posting pictures with all your stuff hanging out is going to get the attention from man that only wants "one" thing.
You think when he writes comments like "DAMN", "WHOA", "CALL ME", or "WHAT'S UP" that's cute.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He just want to smash the cakes that's all
Then you cry when you find out about you being the "side chick" is because that's what you are.
Have some class about yourself.
When you carry yourself like a skank and diss dudes saying they ain't shit you only going to attract ain't shit guys simple as that.
It's more to you than being labeled as something that your not, but don't portray yourself in that manner.
No man and I mean NO MAN is going to wife, let you meet his parents, or bring you out in public if your portray yourself like that.
You can't want the Beyonce and Jay Z relationship, but instead you go for the Mary Jane and Kirk relationship?
I mean for real GTHOF!!!!!
And us good woman don't always get the good guys.
We get the idiots too, but instead of being side chicks we're labeled as the "main girl", but have to worry about chicks like y'all that don't know how to stay in your place.
And a real woman will not tolerate her man going around having side chicks either.
Let's be clear....
If a side chick is worth ANY of my time that he's giving her that means he ain't even worth it to be apart of MY life.
I don't want to offend anybody or hurt anyone's feelings I'm just being honest
Don't hate the good girl for getting the good guy too because you can get that same thing too you just have to talk to God and you'll get through it.

Your body is your temple remember that *wink wink*

Monday Madness: Beat The Heat

For the past two weeks it's been really hot.
I've been trying to come up with ways to beat the heat.
[Those heavy braids on top of my head wasn't helping much either]
I came up with some tips that has helped me beat the heat this summer so I'm willing to share with you guys.
Check out my tips below.....

1. Sunglasses!!! [Keep them close! Nobody wants the sun beaming down their face causing sweat.]
2. Wear Comfortable clothes [I'm not saying dress like a skank, but if that's comfortable to you then do your thang. Wear clothes that make you comfortable in your skin where it's not too much]
3. Keep your hair away from your face, back, or etc. [Let's be real it's too damn hot in 98 degree weather for long hair to just be hanging down your shoulders. It's just too hot for that]
4. Weave it Up [I sure did that!!!! It's easier and simple than dealing with your own hair. Sweating your weave out is much more easier to deal with  sweating your hair out and having to do your hair everyday which can = to damage. That just causes stress/tension to your hair.]
5. Water!!!!!! [Drinks lots and lots of water and stay HYDRATED]
6. Stay cool [If you can be in AC as much as possible be in AC]

I hope these tips help you guys as much as they helped me.
