What Would You Do Racism In An Upscale Store HQ

Today in my Sociology class I watched this video on racial profiling. I was a bit surprised at how some of the people reacted to this situation. I don't mean to jump into a story, but this is exactly how it happens in retail [well not exactly, but some retail stores like my experience so buckle up here it goes]...I worked in retail for about three years and their description of shoplifters was this [I lie to you not hold your horses] black, big purses, hair wraps, braids, baggy jeans, and crowds. I know this sounds like it can pretty much be shoplifters, but here my plea. I carry big purses for the joy of having a lot of room for my things. Do you? Am I shoplifter? NO!!! I just like big purses, not to stuff clothes in them. I have friends that wear braids, but their not ghetto or shoplifters. My friends come in crowds or maybe four to be the least because we all walk into a store we have to steal? I mean come on? Not every black person is a thief. [Now back to the video]....There was some people who spoke up for the victims and some people who didn't. How can somebody continue to shop in a store that doesn't allow another race to do so? Or, continue shopping as if nothing is going on? What do you think about this video? Will you help a stranger that is a victim of shoplifting? What is your insight on this video? Is this still going on in America today?
