“I
destroy my enemies when I make them my friends” – Abraham Lincoln
Lately,
I have been reading “Our Daily Bread” and it has helped
me through a lot on a day to day basis. I try to read it every morning when I wake
up because I found that it was very inspirational and it gives me a
positive attitude. One Thursday, in July, a co-worker of
mines was reading “Our Daily Bread” and she passed the word onto me. When I read
the chapter on “Changing Enemies Into Friends”, I became hooked and couldn’t stop
reading. After reading I must admit [excuse me if I sound
like a broken record] it made think twice about the decisions
I made. I made horrible decision with holding grudges in my past. And although,
I must be honest if you piss me off well enough you can
still forget it and keep it moving. What I guess I am trying to say is that the
beef I had with CERTAIN
people in the past I have let go. It depends on how I want to deal with you and
how much I really know you. So, if you see me talking to someone that I possibly
couldn’t stand at one point that just means “Ra’chel grew up and let it go”.
Now like I said before it goes to certain people if you hurt me to the
core I still have some resent towards you and we probably were never good
friends in the first place. I forgave those that were closer to my
heart. I’m ready to move forward with my life. I don’t want to be those frenemies
who still hates each other after five years. I want to be better than
that. So destroy all your enemies by making them your friends.
If you’re a good enough person with a wonderful heart all you have to do
is let them see the real you on their own. Trust me, it’s all in the heart and “those
who share
a big heart shall seek growth, happiness, love, and respect”.
It’s okay to let people fall in love with you. No one ever said it
had to be the opposite sex. J
